Mac Users: Pick your tabs!
Part of the reason I started this blog was to get good, honest feedback from Color Schemer users. And today, I need your help in putting the finishing touches on the next release of Color Schemer Studio OSX!
So have your say and let me know which tab style you want to see in Color Schemer Studio OSX 1.5:

I like the traditional tabs because they are defined.

No one else with a opinion? I don’t even own the software!

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the feedback! It’s the holiday season, so I’m planning to leave this up a little while longer to see if anyone else has an opinion. I certainly do appreciate yours, though!

Personally I would like to see the modern tabs. They seem to flow well with the overall look of OS X Tiger, and “fit” well in the Color Schemer application.

I personally like the modern tabs. They’d bring a nice change to the interface.

I’m going to cast my vote for the Traditional tabs. They’re more defined, more prominent, and buttons that blend seamlessly into the borders and backgrounds of a window are not necessarily the best thing from a UI perspective.
Besides, it looks like the Traditional Tabs are actual tabs. The Modern Tabs appear to be more like buttons. That’s important, because if Apple updates the UI and alters the appearances of buttons and tabs in future, the things you put there now will be displayed differently in the future. Using the Tab UI item will help to ensure compatibility.

I love this program. It’s the program i’m seeking for. It would be my pleasure to introduce this program to others. Do you mind if i advertise your program on my blog?

Hi Jerry,
Not at all! In fact, I would be honored if you mentioned Color Schemer on your blog.
Thank you very much!

I’m not a Mac user, but I think I like the first better.

Modern, it matches the applications overall new design far better!

I like Modern (2).

Modern please.

I’m voting for Traditional. The buttons are more defined. The Modern option blends in too much and you almost miss them on the screen.

I’m voting for modern.
I think it’s nicer and feels part of the whole interface.

My vote goes to n. 2, the modern version.

I know my vote missed this update, but hope it will count for future updates, as I’m sure this question will be asked again…
With Style #2: Modern, I feel that the buttons could get lost in the UI.
I look at it this way: Style #1: Traditional (gel like button) tabs are better. Why? There is a simple answer: 99.9% (if not 100%) of ALL drop down menus in OS X, and apps for OS X, are of the traditional “gel like button” design. The actual look of a “button” draws your attention to it, increasing the chance of being clicked.
And, since there are a few places (I count 6 total) where Color Schemer Studio has drop down menus in the UI, why not keep things consistent. ;)
It’s all about consistency.
