Free Course
Complementary App
We've all spent hours and days to strike the right color balance, only to end up with something that feels simply unremarkable. That's why I crafted the Color Schemer online course and color matching app, to solve this problem for you and me.
Color theory transforms your creative process by helping you:
  • create more professional, world-class designs in a fraction of the time
  • quickly prototype multiple color schemes to show to your stakeholders
  • design with more confidence as you make better informed color decisions
  • stay ahead of design trends by cracking new color combinations
  • create unique designs that stand out from the competition
  • build up unique color palettes out of one key color
  • stop endless experimentation with colors
You can dive into any section and learn at a pace that suits you. But don't delay; the time spent here will pay big dividends when you take on your next project.

Hands on or Head first?

Color Schemer is a "super-app" for color theory to bring many useful concepts into a simple and pragmatic interface. It's often cited for examples in the course, and comes with a free trial to be your learning companion.

As a self-taught designer and developer, I understand the value of hands-on learning. When you feel familiar enough with a subject, it's more exciting to get your hands dirty with the tools. When you're ready, give Color Schemer a try.

Color: Where Designs Fail or Prevail

In phone directory ads, the color ads are read up to 42% more than black and white. In smartphones, turning on the grayscale mode decreased phone use by 56%. And we can argue that a bad color palette is worse than plain grayscale. By getting the colors right, you can make your designs look professional and be more engaging.

I would spent days tuning colors, to the point where I could no longer tell them apart. After years of frustration, I thought, surely, there must be a science to all of this, and sure enough, there is!

I built a toy for myself to get more color options, and it took me down a rabbit hole. The more time I spent there, the more I realized I need to export what I've learned. It was worth it for my personal productivity, and now, I'm happy to share it with you.
